I have no issue removing the edge permanently, like i said i kept it only for the display of temps.
And as far as finding wiring issues i think i could track that down as well, i have an hvac background so testing circuits isnt new to me, neither is knowing how difficult it can be. I just need some direction where to start, once i have the truck back. But even then, how am i gonna know if ive fixed it without some kind of a reader like the AE software. I wont even wanna drive the truck around til i know its right. Dont wanna burn the new trans up.

Mark i thought of something else. Before i took it into the shop i replaced the front calipers/rotors. The old ones had siezed and overheated BAD, like i looked like steam locomotive when i got it home.
Also, it has an electric brake module, and 2 or 3 different plugs for trailers at the rear bumper.
Could any of the above disrupt the signal from the pcm to the tc in the manner earlier described?

The front wheels, no. The electric brakes, yes, if they make the brake lights stay on all the time.
Then that indicates that either the wiring or the solenoid is bad.
