question: what do I have?
Hello there,
I am working on modifying the gear selector lever on my 57 ford truck. I am unsure of what I have really. The previous owner made some changes and I am unable to contact them about it. The first noticeable change is the non stock steering wheel. From what I can tell it came from a 60's ford f350 truck (bigger steering wheel easier to turn, because there is no power steering). The second change is what I find most confusing, there is a gear indicator mounted on the top of the steering column just under the steering wheel saying "cruise o matic". My grandparents gave a beer draft handle and said make it into a gear selector lever, so I did. I do not want to modify the one I have in the truck now. I was hoping to find another one in rough shape to modify ( cracked or missing plastic end piece etc.). Everywhere I have looked I have only seen manual gear selector levers (either on the column or on the floor). Would it be possible that I have a automatic gear selector lever or are they the same. I am sorry for not making the pictures smaller.

The column is likely from a 1961-64 F350. There's one like that in a salvage yard near me only it doesn't have the automatic indicator on it. The indicator doesn't even look like a Ford but more like a 1967-72 Chevy. Ford didn't put a bezel on a truck auto trans indicator until 1973 and they were black plastic.
