Recommend a lift kit

I'm driving a 96 F250 super cab, diesel. It has the independent front suspension. I'd like to go for a 4"lift. My front end sags 2.5" lower than the rear, measured at the top of the fenders. Is 4" too much for for this type front axle? Is a kit going to level it up at all? Lot's of conflicting information out there on the subject. I'm looking for some advice from someone who's been there and done it. Did these trucks sit level when new or is 2.5" of rake normal.

I believe your rake is normal. A 4" lift will usually lift the front 4" and the rear around 2" which will level the truck. Most lifts are designed this way.

They are raked so that when loaded they sit level. Leveling it just means that when loaded it will squat at the rear; too much squat can cause handling and braking issues. Now, if you never load it or haul heavy trailers, fine. But if you work it, stay away from leveling it. Just my $.02.

And if you're set on doing it, swap in a D60 front axle and the rear blocks from a 350. You'll get a 2" lift just from that, and it will be way easier to add additional lift with the SAS.
