front and rear sway bar bushings....

okay so im at a loss here. is this kit for both the front and rear sway bar links?

the 4 top ones go to the front like this correct?

now do the two bottom ones go on the bottom link in the rear like this? i know i need 4 for both links

also do i need to jack up the truck at all to do either end? i have enough room both front and rear. also my truck is a 1988 f150 4x4

I can't help you as I am unfamiliar with your year/model of truck…but…

What did you order? Did you get more pieces than you have pictured?

Your pics are of the front and the back axles…I don't know what you are really asking.

i ordered a sway bar bushing kit for my rear link. however only a few of the bushing go on the link itself. the 4 smaller ones seem like they would fit in the front. so i was wondering if i could use one kit for the driver side and another kit for the passenger side

The kit you pictured above will only do the rear sway bar. The "extra's" go on the top end of the rear sway bar links after you remove the factory rubber bushings. The pictured kit will cover just one side of the rear axle, and all parts will be used. You'll also need the pieces that go around the actual sway bar itself.

I've edited my post a couple times. First I was sure I knew what I was talking about..then I looked closer. Where did you order from? What is the Energy Suspension part #?

I presume the front needs the similar "big" pieces as you describe them for the rear?

The two sleeves and four alike pieces would complete one short link for the front sway bar as shown…but you need the same for the other side too.

The two alike pieces, the two flat washers and the one would address the bottom of one of the rear sway bar end links. But you will need pieces to repair the top end (or frame mounted end) of the end links. And again, there are only enough pictured to address one of the two end links.

You have either been given poor information (pictures of partial kits, pictures other than of your truck) or you are not sharing all of the information that you have.

That original picture is only half the kit. Go to RockAuto site and see the pictures of the full front and rear bushing kit.

Perviously to seeing your post I had looked up on YouTube on how to change the sway bar bushings. According to all the video's I saw you don't have to jack your vehicle up to change the bushings.
However, I haven't done it yet myself so proceed with caution.

As long as the vehicle isn't parked crosswise on a hill or one wheel higher than the other, the sway bar should not be under any load. Loosed the bottom nut on both end links and you will be able to tell. Note that the sway bar is heavier than it looks.

i tried doing the rear, the actual bracket bushings are still great and comparing them to the new ones they still look new now the links are bad.....really bad. however i cant seem to get the old bushing outta the top part of the link that connect to the frame. i will take them to work and use a torch to melt the rubber :P
