Factory Trailer Wiring Harness

2004 FX4 has factory wiring setup with 4-pin and 7-pin connectors. Has been working fine, but now trailer right blinker not working on either connector. Traced wiring back to primary connector at frame. Signal comes in from main (into female connector) but gets lost through male connector leading to trailer hook-up. Rather than splicing a wire across the connector (butchering main connector in the process) I was thinking of just replacing the rear harness. p/n marked on it is 4L3T-13A576-BK. Found a few online dealers who want >$100 for it. So will probably check junkyards. Does anyone know if the 2004 is a different harness than 2005, 2006, 2007? [p/n changes from 4LT to 5LT, etc]. ...or any ideas as to how to revive the wiring I've got? (everything seems clean and intact; added dielectric grease but no luck)
