dealer says groaning noise at start up, when i let my foot off brake at a stand still is normal,worse if i turn steering wheel with brake on.anyone know of this prob.

 

I have not noticed it. What exactly are you doing at start up, and I can see of mine replicates it. Is your 6.2 or 6.7?

If I cant, either find another dealer, or get them to prove it with one on the lot.

 

start truck foot on brake,shift from park to either reverse or drive, as i remove my foot from brake i get a groan noise.after i drive for a few mi. it's ok.

 

Outta curiosity, when you start your truck are you sitting on a hill? Could be the "hill-hold" feature that doesn't fully release the brakes until you give it some gas.

 

I haven't noticed any groaning noises. Nothing enough to make me notice.

 

level ground, sorry i should of mentioned i have a 2.5 block lift kit front and rear 295x70x17r nitto terra grappler g2 tires.lift kit guy said its ford brakes ford said normal,tomorrow its going to a independent technician full inspection brakes and suspension,thought if its a brake problem u guys have heard of it.

 

Mine has had it since day 1. They told me it's normal too. Just overnight rust buildup is what the Ford guy said more or less. And that other vehicles with the same brakes have it too. Also said to expect it to be worst in the cold. I wonder if someone living in the desert would get this too?


Mine also quiets down after a few stops.

 

For me, It's just a grind noise, limited to brake contact, doesn't seem to be affected by steering, or the hill-roll delay etc.

 

told me likewise,i live on a dirt road neighbors don't like dust on their Cadillac's, county sprays chloride that chit mixed with sand may make it worse,oh im embarrassed to pull out of the garage when friends are with me. always washing inside wheel wells constant maintenance on my vehicles.....thanks will keep u all up to date.
