Suspension Lift for 1979 F-250

Alright, I'm struggling here. I realllllyyyy want to lift my truck. However, I don't want a 4" or 6" lift. Have you guys ever seen a 2" suspension lift for 79 250? I can't find one anywhere.... I don't want to jack the thing way up. But I'd definitely like it to sit a little higher so I can get some bigger tires on it. I just got a set of 265/70R17's today and I'm just not digging the height or width. Too skinny and not tall enough. While I'm at it, what's the biggest set of tires you guys have fit on your non-lifted without any rubbing?

You can do a lift of 2" in the back and 4" in the front. That will level out your truck and not be too extreme. I simply added a leaf to the front giving me 2.5" lift in the front only and I'm running 35's.

Awesome! Can you direct me to where I can find parts to add a leaf and what not? I'm brand new at this stuff. Thanks for the reply.

Several months ago there was a posting on CL on a Co. to make any leaf spring packs. I don't recall the name of them. It was Atlanta CL were I saw it.

So all I need to do is add 1 leaf to the front and that will give me 2.5" in the front, leveling out the truck, and essentially giving me a 2" lift? And you run 35's on that? Just double checking, because if that's correct, I'm doing it this weekend!!

You could always just go with a 2 or 3" body lift also, just as an extra option.

OK, When I bought the truck it had the 35's. It had stock suspension with flat to slightly negative arch in the front. It had the stock nose down stance.
The tires rubbed slightly on a sharp turn
Here's the back (still stock suspension) 23" from wheel well arch to center of hub. About 6" clearance above tire.

Here's front with added leaf. 22" from arch to hub center. 5" clearance. No rubbing issues. Again, I don't take it rock crawling..........

I have a 4" and 35s on my F-250.

This picture is with a 4" lift in the front and 2" in the rear. It's almost perfectly level

I later ditched the 2" lift block and went with lift springs for the rear. This lifted the rear another couple inches. I personally like the rake a little better than the leveled look.

Here's a 4" lift all the way around (all spring) and on the same 35s.

I hope that helps!

Awesome guys!! Thanks so much. I think I'm gonna go with a leaf in the front and call it a day. Maybe a bigger lift down the road but I've got so much to do to it right now the lift is gonna have to take a back seat for a while. Thanks again for all the pics and suggestions.
