O/T: cool old 4x4

OK, so it's not a Ford, but it is a cool old International factory 4x4. I was more curious to know if it is truly something International built, or if it was an aftermarket conversion sold by the dealer much like the M-H is for us? Is it possibly a good donor for one of our projects? I know there's a lot of crossover interest on the forum for these kinds of things, so I thought I'd share.

'Tis factory. Has a Dana 44 front end, factory IH rear end, T98 or optional T9 transmission, NP 200 twin stick transfer case. These were not conversions, built in house with sourced parts. Later 56 and up had a dash light to indicate 4wd. I had one when I was a kid. Wish I still owned it.

That's all IHC factory produced. I was in IHC truck sales in the early '70's. Still might have the original S line spec sheets somewhere. I'll look.

Buddy of mine has one of those.....his grand dad bought it new. Top speed of about 45 mph. Built like a tank.

I always liked those old IH trucks. Didn't the UAW single handedly put them out of business.

Very cool truck. I love the winch in front.
The catfish mouth grill leaves a little to be desired though.

I like catfish. That bumper looks like a big lip sticking out there. Reminds me of my sister when she was little and didn't get her way. Thought she might step on it one day. Cool truck anyways.
