cylinder #1 missfire.

99 4.6, 73,000 miles. in a (crown vic)
i swapped coils with cylinder #2, miss stayed on #1. there is aslo new connectors and o-rings on the injectors. all this started when the intake broke on the coolant side wetting out #1,2,and 3 cylinders shorting out the coils. put a new intake and 3 coils on 400 miles ago, and now i just lost #2. other than a bad plug, any ideas?

On my 99 CV 4.6 every so often I'm showing a P0302 code. I checked plugs swapped coil paks, checked & zip tied the injector connectors to the injectors. I thought I had it figured out when I discovered a dirty air filter, but 300 miles later the CEL came on again I read it another P0302. cleared it again & its been fine for two days now.
So I'll be following this thread. Sorry I can't help.

i have not been able to get back to it between work and the rain. i am going to try swapping spark plugs between #1 and #2 like i did with the coils. if the miss goes to #2 i will know it is the plug, if it stays in #1 then it will have ot be electrical or in the computer.

i am hoping something fouled the plug when the intake was swapped.

well, swapped plugs this morning, and the misfire stayed in #1 hole. so it is either an injector or computer.
anyone know if the 4.6 and 5.4 use the same injectors? i have 3 5.4 parts engines.

update: 5.4 injectors are different. something definitely got into the injector plugging it up, because i have power in to the injector, and the miss followed the injector to #2 hole.
the good news is rockauto has new motorcraft injectors for $50 delivered

finally got the new injector delivered yesterday after it was sent all over the country... twice.
put it in this morning only to find there was nothing wrong with the old injector beside a bent negative pin. it seems the dumb *** that put the new injector connectors on must have put the connector on the injector crooked and bent the pin, then not notice the pin was bent when i moved the injector. i saw it as i was putting it in the box to throw it away.
