100 Mile MPG Challenge...

I believe 90Pioneer. I have done that route before in my 2015, I have reset my trip computer when driving and I can maintain that type of mileage (no regens) going that speed. As soon as I hit a regen it slowly over the course of 20 minutes dropped to 12-13... Eventually it did pick back up to the 18 MPG range before it dropped again. My total 350 mile trip was in the 17 mpg range, IIRC.
And you all know that I am VERY disappointed in the mileage my 2015 gets overall compared to my 2011, same route and driving style and conditions. Even after all the flashes the 2011 had, it was still getting better MPG.
I checked the computer vs. hand calc enough times that it is accurate., just like 2011 was.
Now, my 2011 was a lariat with 3.55 and 18" tires with the "taller" size. My 2015 is a platinum with 3.55 and 20" tires. The 2015 runs at a lower RPM at speed than the 2011... Not by much, but it's noticeable. Observation: I can't get into 6th at 40 mph in the 2015 as I could in the 2011. That happens at 45 mph. Probably a combination of transmission programming and not enough RPMS.
Hey 90 - How many pilot car stops you do on that run?

No pic but I just got home from a trip to the coast and back that totaled a little over 200 miles. Some stop and go on the Friday night city freeway, then 60 MPG the rest of the trip. I filled up diesel and reset the trip B starting out. Average was 19.7 MPG. Truck has just 2500 miles on it now. 3:55 gears, and I too can say that my computer calculations are within a fraction of hand. I'm very pleased with the trucks mileage. For a truck this heavy, and capable of so much work I can't complain.

Sometimes I'll take the Richardson out of bordem.
Eager to pull my trailer up the pass coming out of Valdez with this new truck. That grade is hell on my 7.3.
Going througj a regen I will usually drop a couple mpg until it finishes
Drive is long enough that it'll average itself back out.

No picture, I get a avg 17 to 19 mpg. On the highway going from Sturbridge, MA. to Maine yesterday I got 21 to 23 mpg. on the truck computer. Kept the speed at 65 steady and did not push it.
On the way back was in a hurry to get the dogs out ran 75 to 85 avg. speed and got 19 mpg. most of the way. With one "cow ****" cycle.
Note: Winter the 16 to 18 highway and 15 to 17 city.

I don't even come close to these numbers.......yesterday I made a 200 mile round trip; going, I was pushing a 20MPH headwind and was showing about 14.1 at my destination. Then on return, I had the same wind at my back, and showed an average for the whole trip right at 15.2..................
But then with 3.73 gears and duals, I don't expect to see those kind of numbers, either.
But, when I hook up to the Raptor, or the 38' enclosed gooseneck and see this puppy pull!!!!

Dakster, I can confirm getting (or rather staying in) 6th gear at 40 mph, going slightly uphill. That's a late 2012 6.7L. I was quite surprised to see that. Maybe what they did in 2015 to get higher hp/tq numbers was shift the power curve towards higher rpms. Wonder if anyone graphed stock 6.7Ls on the dyno.
