Hard to say. I hope we'll see it in September at the Texas State Fair. But with 2016s on lots, Ford and the dealers probably want it to be a secret as long as possible. Someone will leak it, hopefully! But they did keep the GT a secret, so who knows.

Funny how such a dismissive opinion is made, even before you have seen the truck....
I'm betting a loaded up KR is going to make a lot of guys make an about face.

I do hope the truck is more refined looking. I for one am sick of the big square look.

Artsbest, agreed..

It's pretty simple.
If you like it, buy it.
If not, then buy something else.

None of us can control what the automakers build, so there is no point in berating the product because the 17' is set in stone and ready for production.

After 19 years of the same overly stale design, it's finally...finally...finally going to be different.

I'm sure the new one will look a lot better once people are used to the looks. Case in point, the new F150; the first time I saw a 15 in person, I thought it was a dog. Now, I think its a really good looking truck. There is no amount of face lifting that's going to transform the current SD - to me it still looks very close to the '99 except gaudier. I really like my '01, but have been wanting to ditch it for some time, but I'm not going to do it for something incrementally different, just not worth it for a secondary vehicle.

I like the looks of the new 150. I have always thought the late model Superdutys were more than but ugly. The new one could only look better.

I'm thinking my 2015 will appreciate in value once the 2017 is released.

I've never seen a common pick up truck "appreciate", and trust me, you might be in for a rude awakening when the new rig hits the market.

Like I've said before, once this new truck hits the lots, I feel sorry for those who just purchased a late model SD, because the truck is suddenly dated by 19 years, and it will show when parked next to a new one, and will probably reflect in long term resale once Ford starts to market the improvements and new electronic technology...
Old SDs will be a dime a dozen because there is almost two decades of the same thing out there..

I've got high hopes for this next generation. After looking at the new Ram Long Horn, Ford must step up over the old pre-historic design they've been selling, and in a big way.

I've purchased plenty of cars and trucks over the years to know how things work. The 2015 will hold its value just fine especially when you consider the discounts you get when buying an end of line model vs the premium you pay to get the first new one.

Yeah, there is definitely a premium to drive the new model.
I agree the 15' will still hold some value, but it's the generation ending sell-a-thon, coupled with huge rebates Ford will be tossing out there to clean up the old stuff. That's whats going to do the damage to the current gen resale value. We've all been there before...buying a vehicle, only to see that the same vehicle now has a monster, resale killing rebate attached to it.
I'm guessing Ford will offer going to around 4-5K worth of rebates on the diesels. That will kill 4-5K off the top of any real trade value immediately.
I hope I'm wrong. Jeep Wrangler handles it the right way... No rebates, ever, but they basically have no competition.

I personally would rather enjoy the short lived exclusivity. The few bucks more for something up to date and in style is where I'm headed IMHPO.

2ndStroke,
I applaud your optimism.
But somehow, I think your dealer may disagree.
BTW, sharp looking beater..

Bottom line...Who gives a damn. We're all going to get something new in the future..

Resale value? If it's worth more than $500 then you didn't keep it long enough!
