Hi,

The socket that connects to my 7 blade tow socket is broken. I have it held together with zip ties, and that is working. But, I want to replace it, but I can't find a replacement part.

I ordered one from the dealer, but they canceled my order, as the part is no longer available. I have searched the net and the forums for a solution, but I can't find one. It appears that the superduty version is not wired correctly for an Excursion (mine is a 2001).

Has anyone replaced theirs, and knows of a good source?

 

Well, it looks like not many have had this problem. I'll follow up, though, with a potential solution. I sent this question to etrailer.com, and they recommended the part HM40975-11998. This part has the back connector, and you have to cut the existing wires, but I think it will work for me. It replaces the part of my wiring harness that is broken.

The harness part is interchangeable with the superduty, Idk about the plug itself. I have swapped harness while troubleshooting.
