please explain??? you just did this over the phone from any ware? Is it correct that this can be done after your truck purchase? as in when your 3year is running out?
I have a 16 on order and was wondering what's a good price and what's too high?

I bought mine online, using the flood ford site. I have just 22,000 miles on my 2012, but the 3 yrs ends in November. Bought at the end of April.

You would be very hard pressed to beat the Flood Ford price.
You can also purchase the ESP anytime before the 3year/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty expires. After that you can still purchase an extended warranty but you must pay to have your truck inspected by a Ford Service Dept to receive approval.
There really is no incentive to purchased an ESP before the end of the 12 month/12,000 mile time frame other than it will be $100 less expensive.
I plan to purchase mine just before reaching either the 36K miles or the 3 year warranty expiring. I figure that if I were to purchase it earlier and then sell or trade my truck my refund would be on a pro rated basis of a time when the original 36/36 Bumper to Bumper warranty would have covered the same repairs.

Exactly what I am doing. I bought the ESP on both of my previous new SD's just after initial purchase from another well known dealer. Lost my azz on those warranty purchases as I didn't keep either truck past 3/36K.
This time, when I got my 2015, I actually questioned the dealer as to how much extra it would cost to purchase the ESP just before 3/36K vs. new. Difference is only a couple hundred bucks, which is way less than what I lost on the past ESP's that went unused.
Will NEVER make that mistake again as there is no reason to buy a warranty while the factory bumper to bumper is in effect.
On a side note, if you are thinking about getting the ESP rolled into the financing, that is even more foolish as you lose even more money.
