Coolant Temp -40 Degrees ??

Got my Bluetooth dongle today and fired up Torque Pro. It is telling me my coolant temp is 40 below zero. Would this indicate I have a bad coolant temp sensor, or ???

Thanks

Since it's a new devise, I would check that out first. If not the possibility of it being the coolant temp sensor is high.

If I put the wrong code in my scan gauge, the readings will be wrong. Is the dash coolant gauge cycling to normal? If so then there is a problem with something in your torque setup. If no then maybe there is a bad coolant sensor.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the 7.3 reports coolant temp via OBD2, my SGii says the same thing.

I remember some other user on here a while back got into an argument about the stock coolant temp gauge... Went on for pages and pages and the end result was something about the computer using an algorithm to calculate coolant temp from oil temp.

Didn't want to speak for certain, I was wrong about the OBD2 reporting TFT and it ended up being I just fat fingered an O instead of a zero when programming the SGii.

Neither, 7.3 doesn't have a water temp sensor. Thus there is no way to pull from OBD2.
