Can I switch tires from Ford Taurus to another car?

A 2002 Ford Taurus FWD that my friend going to sell but want to take the tires off first and use on another car. The tire size for the Ford Taurus is P215/ 06 R16 and has a 5 lug nut pattern. a 2003 Grand MARQUIS RWD with tires sized P225/ 60 R16 and a 5 lug nut pattern. If he can't use them on the Mercury Grand Marquis. a 2003 FWD Pontiac Grand Prix with tires sized P225/ 60 R16. Any information would be great he tried calling 2 local tire shops one store said I could put them on no problem the other store said it can't be done.

You know, Google is an amazing resource in terms of understanding the sizes of tires and if they would fit.

For tires only (not the rims), the larger tire size can replace the smaller size but (not) the other way around, for safety.
Good luck..

That's the safe answer. However, tire sizes are changed all the time. How many times have you seen a lowrider that left the factory with 16" tires riding around with 14" tires, wire rims, and bouncing up and down? Is it safe? Depends on the chassis clearance and the weight rating of the tires used.

Whether the wheels fit or not depends on the bolt circle, backspacing, and whether they clear the brakes. Front wheel drive vehicles, such as the Taurus, typically have more backspacing than rear wheel drive cars such as the Grand Marquis.

The 215/60 tires are likely to be about 1/2" (13mm) shorter, so the ride height will be 1/4" (~6mm) lower, which will hardly be noticeable. I don't know how much tires cost where you live, but if it was me, and the weight rating of the tires was sufficient to support the car, I'd go for it.
