I want to drive my festiva, where to get reasonably priced 12" tires?

Hey Y'all,

I've been battling for about a year now to find some shoes for my lil festiva, i'm sick of putting 3k a month on the 77.

I found some nice 13in tires at the boneyard, but i have yet to find rims that will not only fit the tires, but fit the absolutely ridiculus 4x114.3 bolt pattern that this car has.

any advice would be wonderful, for 12" tires or anything that will make my car useable

I got 12" tires from Costco when my wife still had her Firefly.

Most tire shops should stock those or at least be able to get them within a day or to, shouldn't be too expensive, maybe 25 or 30 bucks at the most. could be even cheaper if you get knock-off brand ones.

Check Tirerack.com, an FTE sponsor. They have 155/80R12 for $35 each.

145 r12's were at Costco when I used to work there. Don't know about now though.

155 80r12's will work.

I seem to remember the compact spare on my wife's Firefly was actually bigger than the stock tire size.

12'' tires, hmm, never knew they made car tires that small. But I bet you laugh your **** off when you pass me at the diesel station.

The original Mini came with 10's. The new Mini Cooper with 15's and optional 16's is bigger outside and smaller inside. The advantage of small diameter tires is smaller fender wells = more interior space. The biggest pain driving my old VW Karmann Ghia is the big inner fender from the 15's taking up the space were you want to put your left foot.

Automotive "fashion" also dictates wheel size. The absolutely gorgeous, IMO, 1961 Lincoln Continental had 14's with fender skirts to further hide them.

You might check with a lawn mower or golf cart dealer.

You've never seen a Festiva?

Older Civics and Tercels also used 12-inchers. They are still available but there isn't a big selection. However, given the purpose of the cars they fit, you're not looking for a performance tire, lol.

gvw= 2295. powered by a 2bbl (each barrel about as big as a 20oz lid) 1.3l I4, with 60 raging stallions of get-up. 0-60 about 80 seconds. but it gets 40mpg while its at it. i dont have any pictures, but its not much to look at. the little tires are so light and skinny it really helps fuel economy.

the engine is so under-powered, the idle goes up every time you turn the headlights on! hahaha its hilarious
