No power or trans slip? Please help!
Hello all...I'm having a problem with a 2000 E250 work van. Well a few problems actually. It all started with a check engine light a few months back but it still ran fine. Code pointed to a MAF issue so i cleaned the sensor and cleared the code but it came right back. Was like this for a few months without issue.
Then one day with it floored going up a steep hill I heard a loud pop and heard a massive vacuum leak. Found out it was the valve that is on the drivers side of motor with 2 smaller hoses coming off of it. Cant remember the name of it but 1 hose came off the exhaust manifold tube. Well...a plastic nipple cracked off it so i replaced the sensor and all seemed good again.
This lasted a short time and now I have major issues...not sure if related to these previous ones described or not. Now... as soon as you have to guve a little gas under a load...the A/C defaults to the defroster and then switches back to the vents when coasting and throttle isn't pressed hard. It also has a tranny type issue where it will go ok all the way into OD if on flat ground if pedal is eased on. If you try to speed up from say 55mph...it kicks down a gear as it should but the engine just races and seems to do nothing almost. If you ease back off the pedal and allow it to shift back to OD... it will slowly accelerate again.
The problem wouldnt be so bad if where i lived was flat but it's full of hills and mountains. So when im going up a grade...even slight...i will max out at 40mph uphill because the engine will just race...and OD doesnt have the power to speed the van up going uphill. I know it's alot from the description but does anyone have any ideas at all? Thanks!!
