3 pulgs blown?!?!?! HOLY COW!! Have these been on different occasions?? Same plug or different?? First I have ever heard of multiple blow outs in the same truck.

Wow...I got 70K and it pulls like a war horse.

I have heard of one truck having 2, but never heard of 3. Can you tell us your engine build date? It is located on the left valve cover. Stand at the left front wheel and look down past the brake master cylinder towards the motor. You will see a white sticker with a date on the right lower corner.

Thanks.......

Thanks for the replies. I have had 3 different plugs blown out. The first one they helicoiled at 50 000 miles. Then they replaced the drivers side head at 74,000. I just had the Passengers side head changed at 78,000. Thank god i bought the extended warranty!!! I will post in an hour or so the engine build date. Thanks

Did you change anything in the way you used your truck ? Your driving style ? Get a new heavier trailer ? Anything at all ? I too have heard of 2 max but never, ever of three blowing out, especially on different heads (drivers said as opposed to passenger side). You'd think that if there had been a softer compound on one head or a bad thread tap or something that 1 head could have a couple plugs blow out but both heads ? Wowzers, well good luck battling with FoMoCo. Yes it is very lucky you bot the extended warranty. I wonder if the insurance companies who underwrite the extended warranties have a higher rate for the V-10 as opposed to a Dodge V-10 maybe ? Some cars are higher than others, say a Mercedes as opposed to an Escort, just because they cost more to fix.

Dustin,

Thanks for the reply on the build date. It seems this problem is very erratic on which engines have it, and those that don't.

Do you know if the plugs hand ever been replaced, or they all still factory installed. Just curious.

I have always been told never change plugs on a aluminum head if it is even warm. I always heard to let the vehicle sit over night and replace the plugs when is was stone cold. Just .02 cent worth of info.

I had heard some bad stories about the spark plugs coming out so i never touched the plugs. They were all factory installed.

WEll I just left the Ford garage my truck is in there again. I think one of the spark plug coils is bad it has had a bad miss ever since my last head change 2 weeks ago.

Does anyone know if the K&N fipk is worth the $243.00 i have the air filter in my truck now, and was thinking about buying the fipk.

Any info is appriceated

thanks

Sorry about your problems mate, I know how discouraging that can be. As far as the FIPK, if there was one to fit my van, I'd have it. There's another guy who makes one who is an ex-desert racer. It looks very, very well built and looks like it would do an awesome job. I'll find out who it is and try and post here tomorrow.

My buddy has a FIPK on his v10 and it made a little difference but the best thing is the sound of all that air rushing in!!! The best way to go is like I did on my ranger new MAFS FIPK Thottle body and exaust now is rails.
