looking for an answer 7.3 idi
I have a 1990 Ford F350 7.3 IDI diesel it runs great have no problems with it, so i know this may sound strange to most of you, but my question is
What will i need to do to pull my 7.3 IDI motor out and put in a 7.3 powerstroke . like i said nothing wrong with the 7.3 IDI just like the 7.3 Powerstroke better. will the 7.3 P. hook up to the transmission that is on the 7.3 IDI, is there anything i need to change out a kit i need to buy , how much different is the exhuast pipe. will the cross over work on it or will i have to mod. it are the motor mounts different.. i have looked high and low and i have not found the answers i seek if you can please help. Thank you

well i like the sound of the powerstroke. i have 6in. stacks and right now the IDI sounds more gas than diesel lol. but i had a friend tell me that getting a 5.9 Cummings as long as it is a 12 valve that with a kit and tranny i could put it in my truck.. i don't ever pull anything that heavy with my truck and it never let me down in any way. it has no oil leaks gets about 13 to 14 mpg. it might use 2 quarts of oil between oil changes which i do every 5 to 6,000 miles regular as clock work, i use rotella 15w40 with 1 quart of lucus works great, the guy that had it before me used delo 15w40 and said it used a lot with him, that's why i like rotella and lucus .

Yes Sir it is, but when you know what you want you do it..lol
i like my truck a lot and willing to pay what ever it takes, I'm fixing the body and do work on the bed, i took off the factory bed because it was wrecked and built me a full wood frame flat bed to go on it , torched the wood for a great finish, now to sand it down and stain and clear coat it. it looks good but when i get done with it will look even better, original color is black but i am going to change that to royal blue with red stacks and a dark walnut finish on the bed, should make a few heads turn when I'm done.
