Happy Memorial Day and thanks for serving
Hi gang.
Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks to everyone who has served. Memorial day is always a special day.
I will talk later today to three of the men I served with. We try to converse on special days.
Please remember those who did not make it home.

When I served in the USAF in the early seventies, military personnel were not treated with much respect. There has been a big turnaround in our country. Many discounts are offered to vets and when you show your ID, you are thanked for your service. My neighborhood has an annual picnic.
They have a traveling Vietnam memorial; friends I grew up with are on that wall. I think about playing ball with them on the corner of my hometown over 50 years ago.
It is a good day to reflect with pride on my military service and to remember those who put their life in harm’s way and are no longer with us.

Six of us went thru basic and AIT together then off to OCS at Belvoir. I blew my knee out and went on medical hold. Four went to Nam one to Germany. The four are on the wall and I can only guess why we were so lucky not to be. I think of those guys like brothers all the time. A day like today just really makes it hard but we both try to contact remaining family members of our buddies to tell them they are not forgotten and never will be. It seems to help them a little.
