d44 gear swap 95 f150

I have a 95 f150 with 3.08 rears I have a parts truck that is a 93 with 3.55 rears I was wondering if I unbolt the whole housing from the I beam can I just bolt it on my 95 I beam and be done it seems that way being all the internals of the differential stay in the housing and the I beam just acts as a cover but I haven't ripped it apart yet and was just wondering if anyone had any insight
advice is appreciated thanks

You have to change the rear also to match gear ratios.

I would suggest putting seals and U-joints in it while it is out of the truck. Will save you from having to do it later. Also a really good time to check the ball joints and wheel bearings.

Drivers side axle shaft will slide out, passenger side has a "c" clip and can't be removed until center section is out. Once you remove it you will think its easy.

Picky detail, not to pick on you but to help you (and others) understand to avoid possible confusion, but 4wds do not have I beams, that's the 2wds. It's called an I beam (in the 2wd twin I beam suspension) because its cross section is shaped like the letter I. Ford sorta copied their twin I beam suspension in this 4WD design and called it Twin Traction Beam.
