1950 F1 Door lock help
Im trying to get some info how the door handles and locks work. I have a key cylinder on the passenger side door (seized up). Im trying to find a replacement lock cylinder with a key so i can lock the doors. Was this a factory option and was the drivers side supposed to have a key cylinder also? I have found replacement for the F100 but not the f1. If you lift the door handles the doors do lock. Thanks for the help!

The door locks are available from multiple vendors.

Hey Sped,
The door locks are pretty interesting on these old trucks. They were designed so you'd lock the driver's side door from the inside then slide out the passenger side - avoiding getting run over by passing traffic.
The door latch is a little different as well - there are (2) latch points in there.
If your door doesn't fit tight - you may only catch one of the latches - then go over a bump & the door swings open. A lot of us have upgraded to the bear claw style latch by Altman & others.
Good luck over there.
