Additional note to Rusty A, thank you for the interest/concern in texts we swapped today. I'll call you in a few days to let you check it out (from the drivers seat)/ alternatively text me w/ your available times - just not tomorrow).

I guess this also means I can quit reading the V10, 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 forums and concentrate on the applicable one (6.7). Thank you all for your help/encouragement.

I said several times the price was quite a bit better than the current discounted price of $48K (new vs. 1 year old) and several folks said I should consider new anyways.

So moment of truth ... dealer price with fees = just barely over $38K; + sales tax and state title. Minus generous allowance on trade in = $33k out the door.
Congrats to you!

Congratulations on the truck. Sucks to have to get into a payment but that truck should last you for many years before you have to start worrying about things a ten year old truck would most likely need now. Other than leather my xlt has dual power seats, backup sensors All the stuff I find I use daily without allot of extra to go wrong.

Glad to see that you found the truck that was right for you in the end.

Edit:
Does this truck have the 40/20/40 split front seat you were searching for?

This was not my ideal truck but rather a compromise - but one that I can live with as long as I don't upgrade my 5th wheel by too much weight. I did want a front cloth bench seat and this can be configured that way. BUT ... doing so makes it difficult to wrap my arm rearward to look over my shoulder while backing up (it may be possible to remove the middle headrest and avoid these issues). Folded down (to eliminate that problem) and I lose the extra seat space, plus it makes buckling the seat belt somewhat difficult.

Somehow I'll make lemon-aid out of this.

I'm not sure if you are saying that your truck has a center console, but could have had a split bench, or has the split bench and you cannot get comfortable with the middle seat back in the up or down position. If it is the latter, then everything I have seen about removing the headrests indicates that the process highlighted in the second post of this thread is still the process for removing the headrests in the current model trucks.

A few people removing these just stored them in their garage, but others kept it under the rear seat. Should help with returning it to a level more similar to the earlier model year trucks without the headrests.

I don't know what split it is but it is the configurable one, IE: the center can be flipped up/down. This gives me the choice of a full seat area OR huge padded armrest with cupholders and several large storage areas. It is also the type that allows (small) feet to pass thru at the floorboard - another thing I desired.

I assume it's possible to remove the headrest and is what I'll do sometime.

Sounds like a 40/20/40 split seat.

I can understand turning around to look in the back seat but your mirrors are supposed to be used for backing up.

Swinging my right arm over the seat upright and swiveling my head to the right gives me a much better view to the rear. As I'm getting older I find this getting more difficult and may have to one day rely on the mirror. But until then ...
