Transmission/clutch issues

I think I may be majorly screwed. My 1983 F100 with I6 and 3-on-the-tree has been performing like a champ. I even took it on a 75 mile trip recently and got about 18mpg for the trip. Everything is going well. I got past my electrical issues, installed some lights in the bed, installed an ice chest, I've been hauling the kayak, etc. Everything was going well - until the trip home yesterday!
Approaching a red light I pushed in the clutch and to my surprise and disappointment the pedal didn't come back up. Fortunately I pulled into a parking lot and shut down. From what I can tell it looks like a rod has sheared off in a housing. Anyone else have this issue? What is my next/first move? Is this the major event that I am concerned it is? Am I going to have to drill and tap to fix this? I haven't really had a chance to look closely at the issue but I am concerned. Am I correct assuming this is a C6 transmission? Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks - Drew

C6 is an automatic so that is not the transmission you have, wish I could help on the manual part, a pic would really help, but I'm sure some of the diehard will be along shortly

I see what you mean with the C6. I guess it is the Ford 3.03. Hopefully someone can confirm that.

Looking at the situation last night the sheared off rod appears to be cast, so hopefully somewhat soft. I'm going to try to back it out today, but I'm not real optimistic. It only appears to be some form of pivot point. The other end of the broken rod has a bushing. Anyone know what this part is so I can try to find a new one? The whole thing is probably about 5". Thanks

Or are you talking about the pivot ball mounted inside the bell housing that the clutch fork pivots on??

One part of the rod is in the housing on the left. The other part is in the arm on the right. That part slides right out. The other piece is threaded.

I still haven't been able to get the existing piece out but I'm hoping maybe soon. Any idea where I can get a clutch fork pivot ball for this truck? I haven't been able to find anything online that appears to match it.

Can you get this part loose from the bellcrank and snap a pic of it, I would like to see what the ball looks like, I think there were a couple of applications this was used on, ultimately NumberDummy on this forum can chase one down (if there is one in existence)

This is what that side looked like. I still can't get the other part to budge.
