1995 F-250 5.8 2 wheel drive oil issue

This is a picture of my 1995 F-250 5.8 AT E40D that I'm using as a tow rig for my new mobile blasting business. Tonight was the first night I hooked to it and towed it. It towed ok but not great. It really bogged and bucked from a stop when pulling away. My real problem happened when I got home and went to back in my driveway. It started to puke oil in a stream the whole way up the driveway. I shut it down and looked under to see oil coming from the bell housing front edge. My question is, do you think that's a rear main seal issue or maybe something else? I appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance.

I think it's the E40D that's lost it's front seal. Looks like its time for a rebuild.

What color oil? And what color is the oil in your transmission? It should be red but if it's been neglected it can get to lookin like motor oil!

Most likely a transmission seal, but I HAVE had a rear main seal blow out to the point it would puke all the oil (whatever the pump could pick up anyway) out in 20 minutes of driving.

You hit the nail on the head. The truck sat for 10 years before I got it(that's why the body is in awesome shape, no PA winter salted road driving) and the tranny fluid is brownish. I should've known better and should have checked it but I think the sitting may have done some damage to the seal. It did get hot and when backing up it must have just let loose under load. Thankfully in the driveway not down the road like you had happen.
