351 windsor w/ 13:1 or 14:1 comp?

I'm looking at a motor for sale, 69' 351 Windsor bored .60 over, milled heads, Victor intake, MSD ignition, polished everything, but he thinks it was built with either 13:1 or 14:1 compression. Will this be a headache for a street rod? I could probably fly cut the pistons to relieve some compression or put aftermarket aluminum heads on down the road.

Nothing but a headache.

Buy it if the price is right, tear it down and make sure what it is. 13 or 14 to one would require a massive cam and would be or should be a wild motor.

On the other hand, 351Ws are like sand at the beach. Plenty out there, plenty of parts, easy motor to work on and build into a nice mild motor with plenty power and reliability.

Thanks, it's $1000 and has an extra block and cylinder heads to go with it.

Any stock head would be a total bottleneck on this motor regardless what work has been done to them, it's simply not possible to make them flow enough to work with the cam this motor would require.

A motor like that has been "rode hard and put up wet". What heads are on it now ? And ask yourself if the sum total of the parts are worth the price.

I think I'll pass on it, it has all stock internals but a milled stock head to give it the extra comp. Thanks for the advice .
