Stuck plug in 5.4L Triton
Got a 1999 Eddie Bauer Expedition with 5.4L Triton. Plug 3 blew and I have been trying to get it out with the 5/8 socket. Seems as though socket wont go over the plug though. Went a size up to 11/16 socket and it wont fit in plug hole. Any advice on how to get it? Took it to Midas and they priced me almost $100 to replace it....as long as they dont break it.

Welcome to FTE
You'll probably get better answers id you post in the section related to your truck ( look at the sections near the top of the overall list).
Some general comments -- what do you mean 'blew' -- the 3V 5.4 had troubles blowing plugs out of the head at first, and in later years plugs often craacked on removal making quite a problem-- but I think that yours is still a 2V. So, I'm guessing that you mean it just failed.
As for socket size -- get a new plug and see what size socket fits it--could it be metric ?
If you get the right socket and it doesn't want to loosen, it's worth another post to see what others have tried.
Good Luck,
hj
