I was over looking at it today and realized how low the transfer case itself is, and how they have it angled like you were saying. It would definitely take some custom work to raise parts of it and still maintain the clearance at that one spot. Guess I'll just have to lift the truck
I should have taken a couple pictures while I was there, but I didn't even think about it. Ran seafoam through it and took it for a drive. Totally spaced pictures.

Yeah, the previous previous owner had put a 3" body lift on it. Not my style, but it'll stay for now. The truck actually already has roughly 31" tires on it. 265/75/15, which is right about 30.5" I believe. I'm planning to replace the tired old suspension with a 2.5" overall lift, not just a leveling kit. I was thinking of going at least 33's but maybe even 35's. Not sure the powertrain can handle that much tire though. Also not sure if 33's will look too small with a roughly 5.5" lift since the 31's already look a little on the small side.

That's funny, it just threw things off for me. I'd ditch the body lift when you put the leveling kit in it, body lifts are kinda cheesy and if not done right unsafe. Plus 2.5" lift and 33s will be about perfect and not put you into the spoiled weenie truck category that most 35+ tired trucks are. If you have an auto you should be fine drive train wise, the M5OD is iffy I dont have enough experience with them and seems hit or miss when you push it. Depends who you ask.
