Ok this is at the local salvage auction. It's a 2000 with 257k on it. I'm not worried about the body on it. My concern is how bad it's shaking. Is this dead injectors? What could it be? Fast forward to where he's in the interior on the pass side and more towards the end.

PSA: shaking is at the 10 minute mark.
Seeing the air box open like that makes my skin crawl. Engine idles smooth but does have a strange knock and miss when lifting off the fuel. Possibly just related to the deer strike that put her in the junk yard, like a fan hitting something or a broken motor mount.
If the turbo inlet is ok for dusting and the blowby is ok after pulling the oil fill cap, then the cost of fixing all the bolt on parts isn't huge. Sounds like all the injectors are firing at idle anyway. Did it smoke? Just getting it for the engine, right?

It's a salvage auction. I would have about 800 into the cosmetic and frame work. I'm just clueless too what that shake would be. Nothing is hitting and the truck ran for a few minutes. My pops looked at it. He has the same mileage on his and his oil cap pressure was the same. I'll ask if truck smoked.

As to what that shimmy might be... no idea. Could be in that accident a motor mount is loose, the engine shakes up when you get on the throttle?
That looks like a CoPart auction. It's got damage on all four corners, rust everywhere else. That motor would be worth $1500 - 2500 if it didn't have blow by. I assume that is a late 99 or 2000 truck so it has Forged rods which are desirable.
I agree on the air box. As soon as I saw it, the only thing on my mind was the dust getting sucked in. Looking at the cold side spyder boot, it has a little oil leak. Seems to have the gunk where it's suppose to be.
If you can get it for a good price, you can scrap it out and do good. If you can do all the work for $800, it could be a heck of a truck.
Too bad you didn't have a scanner to monitor the motor while it was running. That could have told us a lot on the health of the truck. For the right price, I'd buy it.
