Looks like you're getting as much help as I am with my 1974 F750. LOL Wouldn't have bought the 3 year membership if I'd known it would be like this. Guess I'll have to shop around for an old mechanic that wants to share his knowledge.

Be patient. There are only a couple people who can decode everything, and afaik, only one former parts guy. There are tons of posts, pm's, emails etc directed at these folks, plus new postings every day. If you are going to seriously work on your trucks and want first hand parts info, go here:

Tools, Catalogs & Supplies - Parts Catalogs & Videos - HiPo Parts Garage

This post lists several parts sources. No guarantee they will have your part.

It doesn't cost anything to become a member. But if you pay for a Club FTE membership, you won't see a gazillion pop up and etc ads and can type in forums that non members can't access.

I read thru your back posts and discovered you've only asked a coupla questions, which you've received responses to.

No member is paid anything by FTE to respond to questions...and looking up info for Large Trucks is far more difficult than it is for F100/350's.

Plus, I was ill for several weeks, so I wasn't on FTE during this time. I'm 70+ years old, spent 35 years at Ford parts counters, 8+ years on FTE typing over 57,900 posts...which averages out to 18.70 posts a day.

Typing all this jazz has taken a toll on my constitution, so there may come a time when I leave this site, because I'm tired of doing this.

Hey guys thanks so much for your responses! Numberdummy thanks for the detailed response! I have to tell you guys I read a lot here before I bought this truck and I have looked forward to sharing my experiences and getting some input from this forum. Be patient. With that said earlier this weekend I was able to find the cable locally through auto value auto parts.
