Looking to upgrade stock Coils/struts for 2006 F150 XLT

Hi folks. First time poster on here. I have a simple question.

I currently have a great 2006 F150XLT but I have noticed with the plow on it sags more than I would like. I would like to upgrade to stiffer strong coils/struts but not sure which model they are.

My suspension code on the truck tag is UUMM.. I can't seem to find the reference out anywhere as to what they mean, or as to what the next step or few up would be for strength wise.

Could someone please be able to enlighten me.

Thanks from Nova Scotia

Jason

You might be a candidate for the Rancho Quicklift struts. They raise the front about 2-2 1/2 inches and come with the 9000 series struts which have adjustable dampening. Those would address both the ride height and compensate for the added weight when the plow is attached.

The Rancho's have a similar spring rate to the stock spring, which is shy of 500lb. Aftermarket options, like Fox coilovers are rated around 650lb. The spring rate will assist with the sag. There's a small company in Denver by the name F150lifts.com with a private labeled coilover by the name BOSS...it's a 700lb spring and they ride very nicely. That additional spring rate should reduce about 75% of your noticed sag.

I only see the Boss fronts for 09-13. Will they still fit on the 04-08s? And those cost well over double what the Ranchos can be had for. Nice, but way out of my league.

Call 'em. Talk to Alex (if he doesn't answer the phone). Last I knew Alex had 4 or 5 sets of 04-08 in stock. But to answer your question, no, 09-13 won't fit the 04-08 as the 04-08 require a bit of clearance at the lower portion of the struts tube/body.
And while they are twice the price, they are more than twice as good. Eibach springs. Rebuild-able bodies.
