Fuel bowl valve

Hi Folks-

I've got the drips at the fuel/water separator drain valve. Gonna buy one soon but I've heard about the blue silicone o-rings being better so I have a question.

Does this valve appear to have the silicone o-rings or should I buy the ones I read about as well? The part# is F81Z-9A153-AA. Thanks

That doesn't look OEM but a couple of dollars is cheap for peace of mind.

Get your 7.3 o-rings from dieselorings.com. FTE supporter, good guy, quick shipping, many choices. Get the viton/premium o-rings, since you don't want to do this again.

The part is advertised as "100% Genuine Ford Motor Company parts" and I do believe the few extra bux will be spent on the viton o-rings. Type B I'm thinking? Or should I go for the Fluorosilicone?
I'd hate to get caught on a road trip spittin fuel everywhere.

Thanks y'all

My dad had 160k on his 2000 7.3 last summer when his started to drop down the drain tube, we were going fishing down the shore pullin his 22ft boat. We stopped at a local Ford dealer and bought the same valve you posted (it has the better orings Ford updated them) and I installed it into the parking lot, he traded the truck in a few months ago with 172k and it was holding fine. Either way in my opinion even if it was the original orings my dads went 160k before they started to leak

my truck was purchased last aug 2014 with 168K miles. During the fall i happened to be up on engine and noted some liquid in the valley.

stuck my finger and gave it the smell test and it was fuel. Ordered the oring kit from diesel oring with the blue fluorosilicone vs vition ones.

pulled the fuel bowl, pulled filter drain and the old OEM rings looked yellow and gooie had to pick them out and use brake cleaner to remove the junk..

also removed the stem in fuel bowl to all more fuel through.

put in new orings, and fuel line washers and put back together good as new.

my guess is they lasted this long. but now the blue one they will out last me.

I decided to get the valve loaded with the Fluorosilicone o-rings from dieselorings.com. I'd just a soon support a sponsor here as piece meal the purchase.

New batteries & start from NAPA were another recent dent in the wallet, some rear tires & revamping the exhaust are next. Replacing some sheet metal after that, gotta get an argon mig & .024 for that.....
