New 2wd coils needed. 844 or 844s?

I need to replace the coils on the front of my F350 guys. The cc844 is the standard it seems and the cc844s is severe duty. I have a 460, which is a lot heavier than a 351. You guys think the 844s would be a lot more of a stiff ride than a standard coil?

I just looked it up. An F250 could have a 4.9 or 5.0 both of which are light weight engines. I can't see a 460 (dry weight being 250+ pounds more) having the same springs and being really efficient.

F250s also came with the 460 I think. If you had that stock, which springs do they recommend? If not what's the 350 supposed to get?

It just says the S variant of the coil is for severe duty. I'm just gonna get it. Pulling a 6000lb+ trailer i would consider severe duty.

I just ordered the moog cc844 but looked into the 844s, and my understanding was it would ride like a brick up front.

I would think severe duty would mean snow plow, chassis mounted crane or any aftermarket add-ons for HD applications.

I think you're right. My truck had heavy duty suspension add ons fron the factory. If i hit a bump unloaded, the fillings in my teeth rattle.

Yea that's what I was talking bout riding like a brick. I'd only use 844s if you have a plow or huge front bumper with a winch. 844 should be same ride height but way better ride.

Actually I believe the 844s is 1/4" taller and since it's a good bit stiffer, might equate to a 1/2" or more with a powerstroke or 460 not weighing it down as much.
