1950 F5 COE MH ad...

Don't know if it's been posted, or perhaps someone on here nabbed it, but I ran across this ad. Looks pretty nice.
Buy used 1950 Ford COE F5 4x4 V8 Cabover Truck in Reno, Nevada, United States

Wow that thing is in nice shape. I hope someone can snag it and i would probably just get it running and keep it as is.

Thanks Owen, I'd missed it. Did you notice in picture #5 the MH shift handle and slot in the floor for the other lever (not pictured but might be hidden)? Both in middle of the floor, unlike our trucks. The Fuller or Wisconsin transfer case would be the same as in ours, which suggests they used a linkage log to move the engaging lever over to the middle. Wonder if Josh's 53 COE is the same. The 53 M254 I parted had a similar layout. Might be the same as used on this 50 COE. Here's the diagram from the M254 book. Stu

Yes, I had noticed it. Kept trying to determine if there was a slot by the seat. I'm guessing that MH determined things would be a bit crowded by the driver's seat, so why not use the space behind the doghouse?? I can't tell if the lever is still present.

Neat to see both seats present.

No price listed that I saw either. If any of our guys have interest in it, the missing (or hidden) transfer case Hi/Low lever could be no small issue. If it's missing, there is a reason. Stu

Yep you are right, my 53 has an offset linkage set up.

but my levers are curved forward quite a bit and it looks like these levers are straight up. likely the 53 levers were bent (angled) to clear the bench seat and that was not necessary with the bucket seats on the 48-52 models?

so I think it's likely that the second lever is just hidden from view behind the seat, looks like its all there, or would assume so from the way it looks?

the truck looks great and is a dang near match for color on my 53 too! maybe they should be parked next to each other

So now we've got two... anyone else want or "need" it? Oh wait. We still don't know the asking price!

When "need" is the operative concept, price and other mundain matters commonly are not controlling. I have experience in this area. Stu

This one would give you another way to save money. Josh and I have swapped notes on this 55 COE M-H in Seattle. The guy is selling the chassis but keeping the tin. Asking $1000 which doesn't seem out of line. You might need to negotiate with Josh about it if he has a road trip scheduled to get it! Stu
