King Pin assembly/dissassembly

I am trying to replace my king pin assembly.

how to remove the drag link from the spindle?

I can get the spindle off, but I can't get the drag link off.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

DRAG LINK

Maybe I am confused but don't you just have to unscrew the plug at the end of the drag link and remove the spring and spacers?

You have to remove the boot clamps first, then unscrew the end plug about 5 turns or remove it completely. Do you have a manual? Assembly in the correct order is essential.

If the draglink is troublesome to get apart I take the whole assembly off at the pitman arm/steering box. No need to remove it from the spindle to do kingpins

To remove the drag link on my 1950 I had to use a cold chisel shoved in the drag link cap. I had a socket on the opposite end of the cold chisel to crank the thing out. It was stuck like hell but it eventually came off.
