Not much action on the excursion....

I dropped the price on the 05 excursion to $9900 to try and get some interest after a week being listed on here and CL. My prior post was removed for me mistakenly posting a link to the CL add. My mistake...
I'll keep you all informed on the outcome and when it goes. Thanks for the advice on opinions on value, I guess we'll see what the true value is when it sells!
Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon.

Hate to be that guy, but I think you're asking too much. Looks like KBB puts it worth around $7,700.

Tom,
I looked there initially and came up with total different numbers. If I remember it was around $12,000 average condition retail. Did you look for a 2005 6.0 diesel limited or maybe trade in value?

Found your CL and FTE classified ad and ran it through KBB under private party.

Jon, can you post some pics of your EX? Sounds cheap for an 05' diesel.

Still super happy I went with my 6.8, I think this is one of the best things I've bought in my life

I think the mileage makes people nervous. At 198,000 miles there's lots of expensive things that can go wrong.

Tom,
You were running it through as a 6.8 gas not the diesel

And that is why i laugh at the 7.3 guys that blindly pay top dollar for a truck with 250k and then try and justify their purchase

It's listed in the for sale section on the forum. I can't post a link here or it become a for sale add and I get some sort of smack down! LOL

Huh...that's strange. Definitely remember selecting 6.0L. Now I'm seeing around $12K which is more in line with what you're asking.

Just because you're asking less than book doesn't mean people will flock to buy it though. I couldn't justify that kind of money for an Ex with that many miles. Other people are though, good luck.

Don't need a flock just one person that's looking for a good deal on an excursion!

Depends on your local market too. Even if it's a truck that people in general might want and look for as a niche item, every one looking for one has a limit on how far they are willing to travel to get it.

It's not a truck that most average people would want or have a need for and this might not fit the bill for some one looking for some thing cheap and old to get them from point a to b either.

I've sold a couple race bikes in the past and some times you get lucky, the stars align and the buyer for what you're selling happens to be looking at the same time as you're selling and in your general area. I have also sat on good niche bikes because there were no buyers for them other then people who thought they could low ball assuming I was desperate to move the bike because it has been on the market for a while. And yes that some times includes no offers at all for a while. Patience perseveres unless you do have to move it or just get fed up with it taking up space. With enough time I have always gotten what I wanted for my bikes (the longest I sat on one was a couple years for a GP bike).
