Stubby antenna

Hey folks,

Looked for the thread before the post but couldn't find it. I read the reviews on Amazon for the stubby antenna and it's rated 4 out of 5 stars with lots of reviews. Anyone have one? Any reduction in reception? I mainly channel surf the sports talk radio stations I'm a Hardcore DC sports fan, go CAPS and NATS!!!!

Have had TheStubby (3") antenna for a year now with no issues.

Prior to that tried the 17" and 14" AntennaXs - both whistled at highway speeds.

I have had the same stubby antenna on 4 different trucks with no noticeable signal loss.
In all likelihood, it will come with a male-male screw in adaptor made out of a different metal than your antenna base, so if you ever want to get it out after installation, be sure to grease the adaptor fitting with silicone jelly so it doesn't weld itself in over time. Good luck.

I've got the Cravenspeed Stubby and it's just fine. However I never listen to the radio so it's a looks thing for me.

Looks thing mainly. I primarily listen to the radio or the media stream through my iPhone. So the reception needs to be good still. It's $25 so I'm going to get it and will post about it after I've used it a bit. Thanks for the feedback everyone

Look for it on Amazon. Should be less expensive.

PrinceValium - Is this just a looks thing?
In my case it was a necessity due to a low-clearance overhead garage door.

I purchased the AntennaX Black Billet (14-inch) Antenna for Ford F150 from Amazon and am extremely happy. Some HD stations does fade in and out.

not just a looks thing, the stock antenna brushes the wooden garage door on the way through and makes a heluva mess.

Ah sorry to hear that...I have hit that antennae quite a few times going into covered parking lots. Sometimes I hit almost every concrete beam! I am glad I do not have the clearance lights on top...lol

Anyone have specific model numbers they recommend? I bought a "universal" one on amazon and none of the threaded adapter sizes fit. I don't want to buy another unless I'm sure it'll work.

I'd take a factory one too, mine has been snapped off at the base, and I DO listen to the radio pretty often.

I needed a shorter one for the parking garage at one of the jobs I was on. Went with a 14" deal. Fits my 13 no problem. You do need to use one of the included adapters for it to work. Reception is still decent for the area I live:

I bought the universal one from O'Reilly's. It was 18 bucks, came with a ****load of adapters, and works perfect. Looks awesome.

Cravenspeed Stubby. It's rigid, and looks best in my opinion.
