Hello Guys,

I have been having some problems lately with my EGR Value I got the PO405 code and was able to clear it. So this past weekend I pulled the valve and cleaned it as it was well over due and after I looked at it I figured that the reason was it was bad enough that it was sticking. well I got the Po 405 again and cleared it everything was fine but then as I was going down the road I I was watching the scangauge and it the ERM would hit 100% and stick there then on next start up up would through the check eng light.

Monitoring it on the scangauge in park eng on my readings are

EVD 11
EVM 11
EGR 35

I took it for a ride and the EGR would go well over 75.

I double checked the Scangauge inputs and thre correct. Im getting a new valve but does anyone think that it could be the PCM????

The EGM should follow the EGD fairly close. If the numbers get too far apart it will give you the code. First step would be clean the valve, second is replacement.

 

If you throw the scanner out the window, how does the truck drive? It could be the EGR is slow reacting enough to throw a code.
