transmission swap
I have a 1997 f250 with a 7.3 and im looking at a 1995 f250 but with the 460 im wondering if the transmission from the 460 with fit my 7.3

The 460 trans will work but you will have to re-drill out 2 of the holes. Fyi the gears are different. One of our members put a set of 460 gears into his diesel trans.

The gears are different in a manual transmission, but not an automatic.

the bellhousing mounting bolt holes are in different places.

Right. I was thinking manual. Kinda forgot about the whole auto thing
