lookig for a new bed for my truck. . .

i have a bed that is in excelent shape already on my truck. the whole bottom has nice painted diamond plate and is extremely solid. however i really like the tool box that you see in some of the beds behind the passenger door. does anyone know either if it is possible to add that with some skilled body work or where i can find a bed that has that????

It's possible to add the toolbox. Some have even added it to the driver's side.

Let the hunt begin!

It is but will require welding in the portion you want. A guy I was friends with back before I moved due to divorce added two under bed tool boxes after seeing my collection.

He said as long as you mark your cuts , and remove the inner portion of the box it was not that hard.

sounds like a scary project that would take finding the right guy that knows what he is doing. . .

Meh... even a caveman with a welder can do it. It's not rocket surgery.

Are you willing to travel to get a box? I mean travel. Up to Northern Ontario?
Next winter I will be removing my long box w/ tool box from my truck and replacing it with a short box. The long box needs a floor and the tool compartment replaced. Now that I really think about it, I think it'd be easier to graft a tool box into your existing truck bed, than come get mine.

I am in Michigan I would totally make that drive. Problem is I am in the coast guard and will be moving to San juan Puerto Rico this summer so that adds a bit of difficulty to the trip lol. I'll have to see if there is a place I can acquire those parts to do myself or atleast bring to a fabrication shop.
