Looks like I will be buying tools that are new to me to keep my truck healthy.

Now I need to get set up with good oil and fuel filters.

Which are the best overall?

Which are the best value, even if only from a particular source?

 

There is extended oil filters that alot of people run. I like using the fomoco filters for oil and fuel

 

I run Schaeffers 7000 oil and their trans oil.

 

Just use motorcraft filters. Really can't go wrong there.

 

Most will agree that the Donaldson DBL7405 is the best filter, but everybody will have a different opinion on oil. I just buy the Delo400 at Costco whenever it goes on sale. The DB7405 is larger than a stock filter and does hang below the oil pan about 1-2". If you you don't like that, then just get the Motorcraft filter.

+1 Here Donalson 7405 (Elf7405), Rotella T6 5-40 every 4000 miles. T6 is shipped to your door for 19.57 a gallon off amazon. Can't go wrong there.

 

I run the Donaldson as well; fyi the last one I purchased was blue. Seems they modded their product line. As far as lube oil goes I run Rotella conventional.
