Yes Greg it is a pic of the Purple People Eater (already named it LOL). I am chomping at the bit waiting for the day I can go down there and bring it home! Might have someone in the So Cal chapter who lives close to it, check it out for me, but it looks good in the pics the owner posted on CL. Still, I would feel more comfortable about the purchase if I can get someone to look at it in person before I spend $155 to rent a U-Haul truck one way to go get it.

I might be able to get a friend to take me down there, or maybe pay the guy extra to bring it up to me. Even if just paying for gas it would be cheaper than paying $155 (which is only the truck rental, not the cost of gas). I figure about $45 for gas, so $200 even. If I can get a friend to take me, he has a 4 cyl Toyota pickup so the gas would be better than the 10 foot truck U-Haul wants me to use.

Hey Jim, I would take a bus down there and have the seller pick you up in the Exploder!
An acquaintance bought an F350 Dually with the V-10 engine. I told him that he is likely to be getting eight mpg but he didn't care. He is taking it to Wisconsin to live the life of a plow truck. It looked like a really nice truck and it only cost him five thousand. Amazing, I guess there is NO demand for those things. Same thing happened to the Dodge trucks with the v-10. Couldn't give them away.
Got a little snow, on and off all day. I am still trying to make space for a kiln in my garage. My truck is now pretty full. I scrapped a bunch of materials that I have had around for years with me using them. Cut up a big old welding cart and threw it on top of the heap. All sorts of "good" things going away on that truck. Too late today so I will probably have to wait till Wednesday since tomorrow is my day at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.
As long as we are getting snow, I am happy. It has really been a drought winter up here at Lake Tahoe. The roads are not bad so far. We will see what tomorrow brings.
Cheers Everyone! I noticed Donna's post was before five a.m. Hey Donna, how long is you day? Does that monster truck wear you out?

If that monster truck is anything like the big crane we used in the Air Force for crash recovery, it is steered by a small joystick.
A bus might be another option, but I swore after Greyhound ripped me off by not giving a refund, I would never use them again. I'll figure out something.
