If the hoses were hot and hard... sounds bad, then I'd assume the water pump is good.

Yep what I gathered. So on to the cap (just got a new one) and EGR delete--will be ordering this week.

One question I have--and I know I need to do the pressure check but if a bad egr or bad head gaskets isn't there supposed to be steam/coolant out of the tail pipe and over heating issues?

I'm hoping it's the better of the two If not my wife will kill me lol.
Luck has been running good--sure don't want it to change.
And to top it off were going to be getting 1/4 inch of ice and 5 inches of sleet and snow starting tomorrow. I don't think I'll ever get to use my yard this year.

HAHA--true. I do live in MS though

But seriously---The house and yard need some TLC for sure. I'll be getting gravel laid sooner than later. The dingbat that lived in the house before we bought it put gravel down--Pea gravel and no filler--don't know what they were thinking. The funny part is we live on a lake and our whole yard is on a grade front to the lake and is probably 20ft difference or more and the front will still pool water and stay wet until June.

Figured out my heat issue (pretty sure)
The heat was a little cool set on 73 after switching from defrost. For grins I turned the heat up to 77 and a heard the actuator thing finally kick in and cycle (that was the one posted in the link in this thread that is behind the glove box I think) seems like it must be sticking. One problem down (when I fix it) I did see something I've never seen in traffic after getting off the interstate.....a negative temp split of -1 for about a minute. With temps almost 60 today I think my tstat is fully broken in now lol.

Haha I hear ya. Luckily I got the in laws to park on the street the next few days. It's gonna be June before my yard isn't a swamp. Most everything has melted but some is going to be slow release. I removed about 150lb of 6 inch frozen sleet from the boat cover today. I'll be mudding when I pull the boat out of the yard next week.
