It all depends on what you want for an end result and how much you want to spend. I have several options from LMC bookmarked for when I get to that point in my build. Good Luck.
I bought my replacements at ORieily for $10, Walmart sells them too. Seem to be working good 1 year later. LMC sells a harness upgrade to make them brighter, and make the dimmer switch last longer. I don't think it is very hard to make your own harness.
There are as many answers to this question as there are opinions about what "looks good". Maintain OEM wattage unless you add a relay or upgrade the entire wiring harness between the switch and the lamp sockets. However, in this day and age, if you want real improvements, consider LED retrofits. HID's are for suckers who can't wait to spend too much money for lamps that will turn green as they age. (If you want facts to back up this claim, just ask). Personally, just put standard halogen replacements in it. New halogen lamps perform better than the exact same lamp that is a mere five years old. (The "why" is a little complicated but it is true).
Thanks for the info. I just want to make them brighter than the originals. Wasn't sure if there was a difference between the halogens at NAPA and the halogens at, say, LMC.
Also wondering now if the addition of that harness will help or just make me feel better.
