Aftermarket water temp gauge

Aftermarket water temp gauge
For anyone that has a set up, where is the best place to put the sensor and get the best most accurate reading for a water temp gauge and have the factory one work? I haven't really got a straight up answer from anyone yet. Or is the factory one a dummy light like the oil pressure gauge where I could put the sensor in the stock location and move the stock sensor inline somewhere? Thanks in advance. This is a 92 302.

Everybody claims installing a t-fitting to run both senders in the same port won't work because the senders need to be in the coolant flow, but I did mine that way. Just cracked it open a bit after I was done to make sure there wasn't a trapped air bubble and the aftermarket gauge has always been accurate. The factory gauge still moves around, that's about all you can expect from it. It is actually a gauge, unlike the oil pressure "gauge", but I've never trusted it.

My aftermarket thermostat housing has a port tapped for a sensor. It's whatever AutoGroan carries... I don't like using their cheap junk but I had to replace mine immediately and that was the first one available. I don't think it'll give me too much trouble unlike the rest of their junk... it's just a chunk of aluminum.
