Valley rebuild!

What am I looking at for a truck Luke yours Darin. I'm sitting at Ford dealership right now looking into a 2015 6.7l. I paid next to nothing for my truck and only have time and $400 into for the exhaust. So if I can build a 400hp truck for $4,000 I won't buy new but if I'm looking at $8-10 I'm going to fix leaks and sell it.

It depends how handy you are and how much you can do yourself. Injectors are about a grand. A chip, tunes and HPOP will set you back close to another grand. A clutch will get you another grand or so. Then it's up to you to do the turbo. The turbo can be done for around a grand if you're pretty decent with a wrench and welder and you build and install your own stuff, but if you're not and you want a kit, then you'll be looking at blowing $2500-3k for a turbo kit. I'd say for $5K you can do it if you put it together yourself. If you pay someone else to turn your wrenches..... not so much. For $6k I think you could do it if you can install it yourself. $4k is going to be cutting it close though.
Then again, you can't get a 2015 anything for $4k....

Its like 2700 or so.
It really is a life style..obs is something you are into or aren't. When you start making it about the money its just another bad investment in a chunk of steel. You need to be in love with the truck AND the journey. Its probably gonna b temperamental at times and frustrating. If you are just Luke warm about taking on something that isnt lab coat straight cut then maybe that 6.7 is better for you.
My wife will sell my obs someday...unless I can arrange a big enough burial plot!

lol. One day I'll show up on your doorstep to look through your "collection". That's my favourite part of going to the junkyards lately. They have lots of obs trucks there just no diesels. Oh well I still like to look around lol
