Welcome to the site, great to see another panel show up. To make down the year we will need the serial number, found on the frame, driver's side, on to of the frame rail, starts and end with a star.
The picture you posted is the patent plate, which gives no specific information to give us the year. In fact that plate was used on all the trucks and cars from Ford at the time.

Sorry, I do not have the frame, all that was given to me was the body and I will put a different frame under it. It is the 122 in wb model and I found a 1970 LTD with 19,000 miles on it and plan to adapt it. I am right in the middle of every where Kansas. Will post pictures soon. Thanks for the input.

Yes I guess so, but I plan to make all the out side look original. I plan to keep the 390 cid and the automatic, power brakes and the air conditioning. The body design was just too nice to just throw away and I want to save it anyway I can. I am also about finished with a 1951 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup that I have been working on. From the pictures it is good that I am a sheet metal worker and can patch all the rust and take out any of the dents...

I'm just glad to see that your free panel isn't some kind of cream puff. Suddenly mine looks pretty complete! Glad to see you have interest and vision. Good luck with it. Now that I'm almost 62, an LTD or a crown vic is starting to look pretty good just left alone. Vintage stuff for the parade......

Yeah, the LTD still has a lot of kick up and the original frame is straight in the back. You;ll end up with the floor carved up and a foot of frame loops sticking up through the floor. Even any 50s pickup frame is pretty straight and would work a lot better. You could use the LTD front section but it would be worth reserching the track width to make sure it's pretty close on both or the wheels will be sticking out of the fenders.
