Thinking of selling the Amarillo and going to Ecoboost F-150, thoughts?

The newer limited's had a slightly lower towing capacity because of the 22" tires. I almost bought one, but couldn't get it priced where I was happy. I have an FX4 that's loaded with everything, and I really enjoy driving the hell out of my truck. Figure out what you can afford and the options that are must hav and go from there.
On a side note, a friend of mine just bought a brand new '14 XLT that was loaded with everything minus a sunroof and he paid $35k for it.

Now, my question is what F-150 to get. I know I want an 09-14, and most likely a 2011+ so I can get away from the 5.4 and have some more power. I'm just not sure which model to get. I'm really interested in the 2011 Lariat Limited or possibly a 2013+ FX4 Appearance. Most likely white. What do you suggest?

At this point I'm thinking I'll probably just go to an F-150. I know the F-250 means I'll never run into anything I can't tow (within reason), but I'm tired of dealing with diesel. Also, I only tow a couple times a month and never have needed the payload capacity of the F-250 unless I was hauling scrap, in which case I can simply make two trips if needed (scrapyard is only a couple minutes from my house). This will be my daily driver as well and I just feel I would be much happier with a nicer riding and more quiet F-150. I have a feeling an F-150 with the max tow package could do just as well as the 6.0 simply because of the select shift feature. That's one thing I hate about the 6.0 is no select shift.

It seems like a lot of 7.3 and 6.0 owners have gone to 11-14 F-150's simply because the F-150's towing capacity has gone up quite a bit along with a generous change in power plants. I know my 6.0 will tow anything I throw at it, but it doesn't mean it will tow it as comfortably as the F-150 would. Like I said, at this point I'm just ready to get away from diesel. It's a pain in the *** in 0 degree temps having to plug it in, wait for it to warm up, possible gel-up, etc.

I know I definitely still need a truck as I use the bed a fair amount for hauling scrap, used car parts, tires, brush, and building materials, but the most I'ved towed is a car on a car trailer. My friend has a 2013 Ecoboost Lariat with a double car trailer and said it tows it without an issue, so that makes me think unless I were to give a big travel trailer or a camper that I wouldn't have any issues towing. He also went from 6.0 Powerstrokes to the F-150 and said he would never go back to a diesel. I'm sure the F-150 would suit my needs a lot better. I live in the city and it gets to be a pain parking and driving the F-250 as well.

Yeah, I'm seeing roughly what I was getting out of my F250 in town. Towing and highway remains to be seen. Still haven't done any road trips yet. I expect to see roughly the same but with a MUCH nicer truck that costs less to fuel & maintain, overall. Except that it was nice not having a truck payment.
