All I can say is, Gary, your a genius!
Got the dash patch today, (collar should be here by Friday).
The photos say it all!

Face

Bottom

Comparison to good dash

Cut out holes in old dash, (keep cross ribs)

Inserted, looks SWEET!

Nice!

Sits low profile. once painted to match and screwed down with collar, looks darn-near NOS! Perfect repair for us!

How was your experience w/ Shapeways?

Did they answer your concerns, keep you posted with production/shipping/tracking?
What about the quality of their product, is it what you expected?

Is the plastic able to hold a machine screw?

All I did was tell the computer what you told me, so I'm just the conduit.

In any event, it looks better than I imagined. I'm not sure what I expected, but it looks flat, with no warping. . We did it!

Thanks, guys. As for pricing and availability I'll leave that to Ron/reamer. It is his baby and I'm just the draftsman.

Thank Gary!

When the lock collar gets here, I'll take more photos, install them in the red dash, confirm the project is complete and open up the Shapeways portal for anyone to get one!

Gary, did you get my message on "our" next fiasco, some Boss Hoss decals?

Seems to sit pretty high, or it's kinda chunky?

Do you think a larger chamfer would affect its strength appreciably?

Ron - If you mean your request for a wheel well tracing and some measurements, yes I got it. But, I've not had time to spend in the shop of late. Hopefully I can tomorrow.

Jim - I see what you are saying, and I think it could be chamfered quite a bit w/o losing strength. Ron?

Well, it's not locked down yet the the contrast of the photo may lead to "chunkieness"
right now it's 3/16 thick..
could go 1/8" .....
Gary, no rush on the tracing, just wondering if you got the message.
