Eaton True Trac Gear Oil

What are people using? I know it says use conventional oil but that's not easy to find in the OEM weight. Anyone had any issues running synthetic or non-oem weight?

Just run what the manual calls for, only you don't need any friction modifier since there are no clutches.

that's kind of the issue. Ford calls for 75w-140. Eaton calls for non-synthetic. There aren't really any options for 75w-140 conventional gear oil.

So, I guess you can't use the true trac...

Don't know why you couldn't use synthetic in it, or just use 85w140 gear lube.

Check your local Tractor Supply. They have plain oil.
When I called Eaton before I installed my True-Trac, the engineer said NOT to use synthetic.
I don't know why that is, but I did what he said.

It has only been in my truck for a little over a month now.
Seems OK so far.
The oil claims it meets SAE specs.
